Are you familiar with Jane Blalock and Nancy Lopez?
If you are not already familiar with Legends Tour co-founder, Jane Blalock and LPGA and World Golf Hall of Fame member, Nancy Lopez, then you will be now. This past August, both were inducted into the Legends Hall of Fame during the tournament week of The Legends Championship at the Pete Dye Course at French Lick Resort.
Lopez (shown swinging on the left) was inducted for the fourty-eight tournaments she has won which include five consecutive events. She has also been awarded the Vare Trophy, was the LPGA’s top rookie and LPGA Player of the Year. Nancy Lopez is the only woman to have won all three LPGA top honors in the same season.
Blalock (shown swinging on the right) has won the LPGA tour twenty nine times, holding the record for most consecutive cuts made on a professional tour with 299. In 1969 she was LPGA’s top rookie and won twenty-five tournaments during the 1970s.
Becoming inducted into The Legends Hall of Fame is a permanent installment that is displayed year-round. It was created by French Lick to exhibit some of the greatest women in golf history.
