Gary Player and The Player Foundation Spread Hope for Children Across China
During the Gary Player Invitational in Shanghai, Gary Player, along with The Player Foundation, provided aid and hope for a bright future for underprivileged children across China. The gala and pro-am tournament added funds to the 2014 fundraising campaign towards the Zhejiang Xinhua Compassion Education Foundation.
The Gary Player Invitational global charity series generated over RMB 60 million in China to improve lives for the eighth year in a row. This event hosted a wide variety of businessmen, philanthropists, golf enthusiasts, celebrity artists and more.
Black Knight International CEO, Marc Player, states, “China remains a very important and significant stop for our Gary Player Invitational series as we have been able to create a truly meaningful impact with The Player Foundation’s efforts across the country. The success of the event would certainly not be possible without the great sponsors including Rolex, SAP, Callaway, Coca-Cola, BMW, NetJets, Naked Retreats and the Jing An Shangri-La Hotel.”
All funds that were raised through this event will go directly to the Zhejiang Xinhua Compassion Education Foundation to allow for better education and more meals for children throughout the country. Overall, this event has helped over 29,000 students by building over 120 libraries and over 340 elementary schools.
The 2014 Gary Player Invitational series will conclude at South Africa’s Sun City Resort at the end of November.
