My wife and I played this for the first time today. Challenging course at times, especially the 4th hole on the front 9. Definitely a course that makes you a better golfer. Good variety, good scenery being higher up, very friendly staff. Played 18 in 4 hours (Granted we were the first tee time of the day) – Highly recommend and will definitely go back!
Talk about an amazing golf experience. Shining Rock offers top notch course conditions, beautiful scenic views, and some of the best food you can have on a golf course. This challenging course has everything you need to test your skills: elevation changes, blind shots, tight fairways and lightning fast, undulating greens. Staff is always super friendly. Grabbing food and drinks after a round is a great experience all in itself. They have a beautiful outdoor seating area covered by a tent that overlooks the course. Food is delicious, especially their nachos. Highly recommend this course!
Excellent day of golf on a Friday afternoon after 2pm. Topography was beautiful with challenging varied green tiers throughout. Great putting practice. Women welcomed by staff and golfers alike!
Had a fantastic all around first experience today at Shining Rock. Course was absolutely beautiful. All the staff were super friendly. Carts have a gps screen that shows yardages which is amazing for those without a range finder. Fairways and tee boxes are in beautiful shape. Greens were firm fast and also in great shape. Excellent value, they charge less than a lot of courses around here that aren’t even close to being in as good condition. I’ve played a lot of courses so far around Central MA and so far this is my favorite. Will be back for sure!
Absolutely gorgeous course! Very challenging, greens are fast and tough. Golf carts are included in the price and come with a screen that shows yardages to the holes. They also do have a driving range, which is an extra plus. Highly recommended!
Love this course. Lots of elevation changes and interesting holes. Very challenging and don’t even bother walking its pretty difficult.
Great course for the price, highly recommend. Lots of elevation changes, greens with slope and a mixture of unusual holes you don’t see everyday. Long 180-220 yard par 3s paired with some short 230-280 par 4s.
This is one of the best public golf courses I have ever played. It’s not all about crushing the golf ball, this course actually makes you think about the lie and pin placement. Hitting over the ravine at Hole 4 is extremely fun but difficult at the same time. The scenery is also beautiful. This is a must play for any golf enthusiast.
Great course! Played with the Safari Club on 10/4. Course was in excellent condition throughout. Several elevation changes made for an interesting layout. Very challenging, but fair. This was our first visit to Shining Rock, and hopefully, we’ll be playing it again next year.
Very nice course. It is one of the best coursed that the Safari Club has played this season. Its in excellent condition. The greens are shaped like a potato chip and very fast. Its like putting on a pool table . For a 30 handicap its tough. Give it a try.
